Of the restaurants around the Château, La Brochetterie, 16 rue Henri-IV, is the best, serving good grills and fish in a pleasant, family atmosphere with menus from €13, and a lunch special for €9.90, while O'Gascon, at 13 rue du Château, is the most popular its €21.35 menu tradition is excellent and there's a €14.95 menu if you're feeling less extravagant. Alternatively, try Chez Maman, a decent crêperie/cidrerie opposite the castle at 6 rue du Château, or L'Entracte, opposite the municipal theatre in rue St-Louis, which offers a range of original salads and other vegetarian dishes. For a splurge, try La Table d'Hôte, 1 Chemin du Hédas (closed Sun), with gourmet menus at €18 and €22.70; or, near the station, Au Fin Gourmet, 24 av Gaston-Lacoste (closed Sun eve & Mon), with several game-oriented menus from €15. Brasseries include L'Aragon at 18 bd des Pyrénées, and popular Le Berry at the south end of rue Gachet arrive early to be sure of a table or be prepared to queue, but it's worth the wait to sample their demi-Chateaubriand with sauce béarnaise.
