Pont des Bannes
Few of the restaurants in Stes-Maries are bargains, though there are any number to choose from, and out of season the quality improves and prices come down. Right in the centre of town on place des Impériaux, L'Impérial (tel 04.90.97.81.84; closed Nov–March & Tues except July & Aug) serves pleasant fish dishes on a €19.50 menu. Or try the tapas and bargain wine at Kahlua Bodéga, 1 rue Jean Roche (tel 04.90.97.98.41; closed Jan & Feb, Wed out of season; around €15.25). The best places to try local fish specialities, however, are at the beach hut restaurants Chez Juju and Chez Marc et Mireille in BEAUDUC, over the dykes on the spit of sand on the opposite side of the bay from Stes-Maries. They're not easy to get to, but if you're Hiking or cycling in the area, it's worth the extra mile. By car it's a good thirty minutes from Salin-de-Giraud.
