Rétro means "period clothes", mostly unsold factory stock from the 1950s and 1960s, though some shops specialize in expensive high-fashion articles from as far back as the 1920s. Plain secondhand stuff is referred to as fripe – not especially interesting compared with London or New York, and dominated by the US combat-jacket style.
