Many shops in Paris stay open all day from Monday to Saturday. Most tend to close comparatively late – 7 or 8pm as often as not. Some smaller businesses close for up to two hours at lunchtime, somewhere between noon and 3pm. Most shops are closed on Sunday and some on Monday as well, though many food shops, such as boulangeries, will open on Sunday morning, and other shops, such as clothes or bookshops, will take only Monday morning off.
