Horse Racing
The biggest races are the Grand Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe and the Prix de la République, held on the first and last Sundays in October respectively at Auteuil and Longchamp. The week starting the last Sunday in June sees nine big events, at Auteuil, Longchamp, St-Cloud and Chantilly. If you want to try your luck with betting, any bar or café with the letters PMU will take your money on a three-horse bet, known as le tiercé.

St-Cloud Champ de Courses is in the Parc de St-Cloud off Allée de Chamillard. Auteuil is off the route d'Auteuil (M° Porte-d'Auteuil), and Longchamp off the route des Tribunes (M° Porte-Maillot and then bus 244), both in the Bois de Boulogne. L'Humanité and Paris-Turf carry details, and admission charges are less than €5.

Trotting races, with the jockeys in chariots, run from August to September on the Route de la Ferme in the Bois de Vincennes.
