Géode
In front of the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie complex floats the Géode (hourly shows 10.30am–9.30pm, till 7.30pm on Sun, closed Mon; €8.75; www.lageode.fr), a bubble of reflecting steel dropped from an intergalactic boules game into a pool of water that ripples with the mirrored image of the Cité. Inside, the sphere holds a screen for Omnimax 180° films, not noted for their plots but a great visual experience. Or there's the Cinaxe, between the Cité and the Canal St-Denis (screenings every 15min 11am–1pm & 2–5pm, closed Mon; €5.20 or €4.50 with Explora ticket) combining 70mm film shot at thirty frames a second with seats that move, so that a bobsleigh ride down the Cresta Run, for example, not only looks unbelievably real, but feels it, too. You can clamber around a real 1957 French military submarine beside the Géode, the Argonaute (Mon–Fri 10.30am–5.30pm, Sat & Sun 11am–6pm; €3), and view the park through its periscope.
