Rue de la Fontaine France > Paris > West > Auteuil > Rue de la Fontaine and the Maison de Radio-France
Rue de la Fontaine runs northeast from place Lorrain to the Radio-France building and has Guimard buildings at nos. 14, 17, 19, 21 and 60. Among these, no. 14 is the most famous: the "Castel Béranger" (1898), with exuberant Art Nouveau decoration and shapes in the bay windows, the roofline and the chimney. At no. 65 there's a huge block of artists' studios by Henri Sauvage (1926) with a fascinating colour scheme, bearing signs of a Cubist influence. The Maison de Radio France, its entrance at 116 av du Président Kennedy, is the national radio headquarters; you can visit here for free concerts or take a guided tour through the Musée de Radio France (MonFri 10.3011.30am & 2.304.30pm; €5; RER Av-du-Prés-KennedyMaison-de-Radio-France & M° Ranelagh), which illustrates the history of broadcasting through a wide collection of equipment including some early Marconi radios.
