The International Festival of Women's Films, held in the last week in March, is organized by the Maison des Arts in Créteil (tel 01.49.80.38.98, www.filmsdefemmes.com; M° Créteil-Préfecture). At the same time of year (from mid-March to the end of the month) and also in the suburbs, in Bobigny to the northeast of the city, the Magic Cinéma (rue du Chemin-Vert, 93000 Bobigny; tel 01.41.60.12.34) runs the festival Théâtres au Cinéma, which concentrates on the links between literature and the cinema. More mainstream films are previewed at the end of March at the Festival du Film de Paris, which takes place at the Cinéma Gaumont Marignan at 27–33 av des Champs-Élysées, 8e (tel 01.45.72.96.40, www.festivaldufilmdeparis.com).

During the summer, the Parc de la Villette (M° Porte-de-Pantin) organizes the Festival du Cinéma en Plein Air (tel 01.40.03.75.75, www.la-villette.com; free). Films based on changing themes are shown every night at sunset (usually from the second week in July to mid-August at around 10pm) to an audience of picnickers on the grass. Deckchairs (€6.10) are available for hire, too.
