To find out what's on you need to get hold of one of the city's Listings magazines; see "Basics" for a run-down. If you want more in-depth coverage, try the Hot Guide pull-out section (in French) of the monthly magazine Nova (www.novaplanet.com), which also runs its own radio station. The best way to find out about the latest club nights is to head to a specialist music shop, or pick up flyers in the trendy shops and cafés of the Marais and Bastille.

The easiest places to get tickets for concerts, whether rock, jazz, chansons or classical, are at FNAC, whose main branch is in the Forum des Halles, 1–5 rue Pierre-Lescot, 1er (Mon–Sat 10am–7.30pm; tel 01.40.41.40.00, www.fnac.fr; M° Chatelet-Les Halles). Alternatively, you can use one of the FNAC Musique branches, or Virgin Megastore, at 56–60 av des Champs-Élysées, 8e (daily 10am–midnight; tel 01.49.53.50.00, www.virginmega.fr; M° Franklin-D.Roosevelt), and at the Carrousel du Louvre, beneath the Louvre, 1er (Sun–Tues 10am–8pm, Wed 10am–9pm, Thurs–Sat 10am–10pm; M° Palais-Royal/Musée-du-Louvre).
