L'Arquebuse 13 rue Héré. In the winter months you can sample sushi from 6–10pm. Later on, all year round, jazz and salsa bring the chic leather and wood surroundings to life. Closed Sun & Mon.

Le Blitz 76 rue St-Julien. One of several lively bars along this street, with danceable music and a trendy clientele, open till late.

BpM 90 Grande-Rue. Popular with young Nancy boys this techno bar is the nearest the town gets to a gay bar. Only really gets going at weekends. Open till late.

O Circo 25 rue St-Julien. Cuban and other world music, sometimes live, are the attractions here along with an immodest statue.

Pinocchio place St-Epvre. Features stylish wooden interior furnishings and a terrace facing the church St-Epvre; good for drinks at all hours. Open Mon–Sat 8am–2am.

La Place place Stanislas. Extravagant decor and varied music attracts a mixed crowd of drinkers, boppers and general revellers. Open Mon–Sat 8am–2am.

4A 32 avenue du XXe Corps. A bright terrace for summer months and cheerful indoor decor for Nancy's long winters provide a perfect venue for salsa and groove, plus art exhibits and other trendy happenings.

Réservoir Café 13 rue Callot. Leather armchairs and mellow music add to the cosiness of this fashionable café-bar known for its stiff cocktails. Open 4pm–2am, closed Sun.

Théâtre le Vertigo 29 rue de la Visitation. Postmodern gargoyles contribute to its interesting theatrical atmosphere. Bands and other performances regularly. Mon–Sat until 2am; open till 5am if there's a show.
