France for visitors

South of the Seine
France > Normandy > Inland Normandy > South of the Seine

Heading south from the Seine you can follow the River Risle from the estuary just east of Honfleur, or the Eure and its tributaries from upstream of Rouen. Between the two stretches the long featureless Neubourg Plain. The lowest major crossing point over the Risle is at PONT-AUDEMER, where medieval houses lean out at alarming angles over the crisscrossing roads, rivers and canals. From here, perfect cycling roads lined with timbered farmhouses follow the river south.

Pages in section ‘South of the Seine’: Le Bec-Hellouin, Brionne and Beaumont, Conches-en-Ouche, ÉVREUX.
