Several of Bayeux's hotels, most notably the Notre Dame, have good dining rooms, while most restaurants are in the rue St-Jean leading east from the river, or near the main door of the cathedral. Meat- and dairy-rich Norman cuisine on menus from €9.50 (lunch only) to the €25 "D-Day Menu", plus an €11.50 vegetarian option. Closed Tues & Wed, plus all Feb. A rendezvous for meat lovers, behind a butcher's shop and serving the freshest, bloodiest flesh on a well-judged quartet of menus, at €14, €16, €20 and €26 the latter features a tureen of sweetbreads.
