Apart from the hotel restaurants and the brasseries on the main street opposite the tourist office, there are several good and not too expensive places to eat. The best is the Tournayre Eric, at 12 rue Chènebouterie (tel 04.71.09.58.94; closed Sun & Wed eve, Mon & Jan), specializing in the region's cuisine (menus €1955). A l'ecu d'or, at 59 rue Pannessac (tel 04.71.02.19.36; closed SeptMay Sun eve and Wed), also does regional specialities and serves local wines (menus €1423). Two cheaper establishments, both in rue Raphaël, which begins at the bottom of rue des Tables, are the Nom de la Rose, at no. 48 (closed Sun & SeptMay: Mon), offering Mexican food, with menus from €10.52, and La Felouque, at no. 49 (closed Feb & SeptMay: Tues; from €825), which serves Middle Eastern dishes and excellent grilled salmon. At 29 rue Pannessac there's a vegetarian restaurant, La Farandole, serving mostly organic food and good fondues. For a drink or light snack, the terrace of Le Petit Gourmande, at the bottom of rue des Tables, makes a pleasant stop in summer (closed Jan; galettes for €5, a la carte from €11). A good place for an evening drink is Harry's Bar, on rue Raphaël, near the corner with rue des Tables.
