It's possible to visit most of the more-visited châteaux by public transport, but if you're short of time it's worth considering a day or half-day minibus trip. A number of companies run excursions from Tours, and on most schedules you'll find the following châteaux: Amboise, Azay-le-Rideau, Blois, Chambord, Chenonceau, Cheverny, Clos Lucé (in Amboise), Fougères-sur-Bièvre, Langeais, Ussé and Villandry. Ticket prices are usually around €16 for a morning trip, taking in one or two châteaux; €2330 for an afternoon tour often with a third Château or a wine tasting; and €3745 for a full-day tour. Prices do not usually include entrance fees or lunch.Try Acco Dispo (tel 06.82.00.64.51, www.accodispo-tours.com); Saint-Eloi Excursions (tel 02.47.37.08.04, www.saint-eloi.com); Services Touristiques de Touraine (tel 02.47.05.46.09); or Touraine Excursions (tel 06.07.39.13.31, www.tourevasion.com).
