About four trains a day in each direction stop at Fréjus' gare SNCF, just three to four minutes away from St-Raphaël. Trains to St-Raphaël itself are much more common, and it's usually easiest to alight there and then take the bus, which runs frequently between the two towns and takes only ten minutes on the St-RaphaëlDraguignan route. The gare routière is on the east side of the town centre on place Paul-Vernet (tel 04.94.53.78.46), opposite which is the tourist office, at 325 rue Jean-Jaurès (JuneSept MonSat 9amnoon & 27pm, Sun 10amnoon & 3.306pm; OctMay MonSat 9amnoon & 26pm, Sun 10amnoon & 35.30pm; tel 04.94.51.83.83, www.ville-frejus.fr). Holiday Bikes, 943 av de Provence (tel 04.94.52.30.65, www.holiday-bikes.com), has, unsurprisingly, bikes for rent. To connect to the Internet, head for Cyber Sn@ke at 763 bd Alger, along the Fréjus-Plage (daily 10-2am; tel 06.77.03.49.31).If you're looking to stay the night in Fréjus, three central hotels worth trying are the plush Aréna, 139 rue de Général-de-Gaulle (tel 04.94.17.09.40, fax 04.94.52.01.52; €100125), with pretty, if rather small rooms and a pool; La Bellevue, place Paul-Vernet (tel 04.94.17.25.05, fax 04.94.17.23.75; €3040), in a convenient though not particularly quiet location; and La Riviera, 90 rue Grisolle (tel 04.94.51.31.46, fax 04.94.17.18.34; €3040), very small and not very modern, but clean and perfectly acceptable. There's an HI hostel 2km northeast from the centre of Fréjus at chemin du Counillier (tel 04.94.53.18.75, fax 04.94.53.25.86); bus #7 leaves quai 7 of the St-Raphaëlgare routière at 6pm, or take a regular bus #4, #8 or #9 from St-Raphaël or Fréjus, direction "L'Hôpital" to stop "Les Chênes" and walk up avenue du Gal-d'Armée Jean-Calies the chemin du Counillier is the first left. Beds are €11.30. There is also a large campsite in the grounds. An alternative campsite is Les Acacias, 370 rue Henri-Giraud (tel 04.94.53.21.22), 2.5km from the centre and open all year.
