L'Albadu 2.5km southwest of town tel 04.95.46.24.55. Perfect little camping à la ferme, situated on a hillside above Corte. Basic, but much nicer than any of the town sites, and well worth the walk.Gîte d'Étape U Tavignanu ("Chez M. Gambini") Behind the citadelle tel 04.95.46.16.85. Run-of-the-mill hikers' hostel with small dorms and a relaxing garden terrace that looks over the valley. Peaceful, secluded, and the cheapest place to stay after the campsites. Follow the signs for the Tavignano trail (marked with Orange spots of paint) around the back of the citadelle. €14 per bed (includes breakfast). Restonica 500m south of the town centre. Middle-sized site on the riverside, close to town, with low terraces, plenty of shade and its own café-bar. U Sognu rte de la Restonica tel 04.95.46.09.07. At the foot of the valley, a 15min walk from the centre. Has a good view of the citadelle, plenty of poplar trees for shade, and toilets in a converted barn. There's also a small bar and restaurant (in summer). Tuani 7km southeast, Vallée de la Restonica tel 04.95.46.11.62. Too far up the valley without your own car, but the wildest and most atmospheric of the campsites around Corte, overlooking a rushing stream, deep in the woods. Ideally placed for an early start on Monte Rotondo. Basic facilities, although they do have a cheerful little café serving good bruschettas and other hot snacks.
