Arrival, information and accommodation France > Corsica > Corte > ArrivalBuses from Ajaccio and Bastia stop in the centre of town on avenue Xavier-Luciani; the gare SNCF is at the foot of the hill near the university (tel 04.95.46.00.97), a ten-minute walk from the centre and campsites. If you're driving, the best place to park is at the top of avenue Jean-Nicoli, the road which leads into town from Ajaccio. Corte's tourist office is situated just inside the main gates of the citadelle, near the museum (July & Aug daily 9am8pm; June & Sept MonSat 9am1pm & 27pm; JanMay MonFri 9amnoon & 26pm, plus Sat in May; tel 04.95.46.26.70). In the same building is the information office of the Parc Régional (same hours and phone number).Finding a place to stay can be a problem from mid-June until early September, when it's advisable to book in advance. With three campsites in the town, and a couple a short drive away, tent space is at less of a premium, although the sites across the river get crowded in high season.
