Centre Nautique The marina tel 04.95.73.02.11, www.centre-nautique.com. Chic but relaxed hotel on the waterfront, fitted out with mellow wood and nautical charts. All rooms are tastefully furnished and consist of two storeys connected with a spiral staircase. The best upmarket option in town. Over €150.

Des Étrangers 4 av Sylvère-Bohn tel 04.95.73.01.09, fax 04.95.73.16.97. Simple rooms (the costlier ones have TV and air-con) facing the main road, just up from the port. Nothing special, but pretty good value for Bonifacio. April–Oct. €70–85

Le Roi d'Aragon 13 quai J. Comparetti tel 04.95.73.03.99, fax 04.95.73.07.94. A recently revamped three-star overlooking the marina, with better-than-average off-season discounts. Some of the rooms are small, but the pricier ones have sunny interconnecting terraces looking across the port. €85–100

Santa Teresa quartier Saint-François tel 04.95.73.11.32, fax 04.95.73.15.99. Large three-star on the clifftop overlooking Cimtière Marin, worth a mention for its stupendous views across the straits to Sardinia. Not all the rooms are sea-facing, though, so ask for "vue mer avec balcon" when you book. €125–150
