The tourist office is at 4 rue Bocquillot (May, June & Sept daily 9.30am–noon & 2–6pm; July & Aug daily 9.30am–7pm; Oct–April Mon–Sat 9.30am–noon & 2–6pm; tel 03.86.34.14.19), between the clock tower and the church. Bikes can be hired from Touvélo, rue de Paris (tel 03.86.34.28.11).For inexpensive accommodation, head for the bargain-priced Hôtel du Parc, opposite the train station at 3 place de la Gare (tel 03.86.34.17.00; under €30), which is clean and friendly, with an inexpensive restaurant and locals' café. More modern, and comfortable, is the Dak' Hôtel, 119 rue de Lyon, 4km from the town centre (tel 03.86.31.63.20, fax 03.86.34.25.28; €40–55), while the most expensive option is the charming Hostellerie de la Poste, 13 place Vauban (tel 03.86.34.16.16, www.hostelleriedelaposte.com; €85–100), a former coaching inn with twelve sumptous rooms and some more expensive suites, plus a restaurant serving an overwhelming choice of desserts (menus from €25) and a flower-strewn courtyard. For a really special meal, the Relais des Gourmets, 45–47 rue de Paris (tel 03.86.34.18.90) has menus from €14.50, but if you can afford it, go for the €58 menu, served with appropriate wines. If you have a car, take the scenic, wooded road that runs alongside the river Cousin towards Vézelay. After 5km, you'll find the swish, efficient Moulin de Ruats (tel 03.86.34.97.00, www.hostellerie-moulin-ruats.fr; €55–70; closed mid-Jan to mid-Feb), with an exceptional restaurant (menu from €25; evenings only). A kilometre or two further along, just short of Pontaubert, where the back road joins the main road to Vézelay, the lovely, creeper-covered Moulin des Templiers (tel 03.86.34.10.80, www.hotel-moulin-des-templiers.com; €70–85; closed Nov to mid-March) provides a more romantic atmosphere, though you'll have to head to Pontaubert or Avallon for a meal. The attractive Camping Municipal de Sous-Roche (tel 03.86.34.10.39; March–Oct), and the Ferme-Auberge des Chatelaines (tel 03.86.34.16.37; closed Thurs–Sun mid-Oct to April), are a couple of kilometres out of town on the route de Corbigny/Us.
