Boats run by Brittany Ferries (tel 08.03.82.88.28, www.brittany-ferries.com) from Plymouth (6hr) and Cork (19hr), and those run by Irish Ferries (tel 02.98.61.17.17, www.irishferries.com) from Rosslare (21hr) dock at the Port de Bloscon, to the east (and just out of sight) of Roscoff. In summer, a direct bus service to Morlaix, Quimper and Benodet leaves from the ferry terminal coinciding with arrivals (Mon, Thurs & Sat 7am; Wed, Fri & Sun 3.30pm; CAT; tel 02.98.90.88.89). From the gare SNCF, a few hundred metres south of the town proper, a restricted rail service runs to Morlaix.

The tourist office is at 46 rue Gambetta in town (April–June & Sept Mon–Sat 9am–noon & 2–6pm; July & Aug Mon–Sat 9am–12.30pm & 1.30–7pm, Sun 10am–12.30pm; Oct–March Mon–Fri 10am–noon & 2–5pm, Sat 10am–noon).

For a small town, Roscoff is well equipped with hotels, which are accustomed to late-night arrivals from the ferries. Good options in the old town include the Hôtel-Restaurant des Arcades, 15 rue Amiral-Réveillère (tel 02.98.69.70.45, www.acdev.com; €30–40; closed Oct–Easter; menus from €9.50), housed in a sixteenth-century building with superb views; the family-run Du Centre, 5 rue Gambetta (tel 02.98.61.24.25; €40–55; closed mid-Dec to Jan), looking out on the port, above the café-bar Chez Janie; and Les Chardons Bleus, 4 rue Amiral-Réveillère (tel 02.98.69.72.03, fax 02.98.61.27.86; €40–55; closed Feb), a very friendly and helpful hotel, with a good restaurant (closed Thurs Sept–June, plus Sun in winter). Nearer the ferry terminal is the Hôtel-Restaurant le Bellevue, rue Jeanne d'Arc (tel 02.98.61.23.38, fax 02.98.61.11.80; €40–55; closed mid-Nov to mid-March, except Xmas and New Year), which has a lively bar, pleasant rooms and fine views from the dining room. Lower down the price range, there's an HI hostel on the Île de Batz and two campsites: Camping municipal de Perharidy, 2km west of town (tel 02.98.69.70.86, [email protected]; closed Oct–March), just off the route de Santec, and the roomier Manoir de Kérestat, 2km south towards St-Pol, which only holds 22 sites (tel 02.98.69.71.92; closed late Aug to early July). Very much the obvious places to eat are the dining rooms of the hotels themselves, though it's not easy to get a meal much after 9pm.
